Omie funding round 2025: Brazil’s largest startup deal this year
Omie, the Brazilian SaaS platform for small and medium-sized enterprises, has completed the largest startup financing in Brazil in 2025 so far. The company raised R$ 855 million (~$150 Million) in a transaction led by Partners Group, marking the entry of one of Europe’s most prominent private equity investors into Brazil’s growth equity market.
The Omie funding round 2025, announced on September 11, was structured primarily as a secondary transaction. Early investors such as SoftBank, Riverwood Capital, Astella, Tencent, Dynamo, HIX Capital, Bogari Capital, and Brasil Capital sold part of their stakes, gaining liquidity while remaining committed to the company. According to co-founder Marcelo Lombardo, no investor chose to exit completely. “The most symbolic aspect of this round is that no one is leaving. All previous investors are doubling down. This shows their confidence in our long-term plan,” he told NeoFeed.
Partners Group’s debut in Brazilian growth equity
The deal also represents the first growth equity investment by Partners Group in Brazil. The Swiss firm, which manages more than US$ 170 billion in assets worldwide, has been present in Latin America since 2012 and is best known for its investment in Hortifruti Natural da Terra, later sold to Americanas in 2021.
For Tiago Andrade, head of private equity for Partners Group in Latin America, Omie offers a rare combination of scale and innovation. “We believe Omie is uniquely positioned to lead the digital transformation of SMEs in Brazil. Its scalable model, coupled with a strong culture of innovation, makes this the right moment to accelerate,” he said. Of the R$ 855 million raised, Partners Group contributed about R$ 570 million, with the remainder coming from other undisclosed investors.
Omie 2025 round: Performance and strategy
Omie today records annual recurring revenue of R$ 600 million and has been cashflow positive since June 2023. The round valued the company at US$ 700 million pre-money, about 70% higher than in its 2021 Series C. With 180,000 customers and a monthly transaction volume of R$ 35 billion in invoices, the platform touches around 3.5% of Brazil’s GDP. Its growth remains steady at 30 to 40 percent per year, fueled by a strategy that relies heavily on accounting firms as a distribution channel and, more recently, on embedded financial services.
Looking ahead, the company sees two major catalysts for expansion. The first is artificial intelligence: Omie recently launched a WhatsApp-based interface for its ERP system, aimed at reducing friction in adoption among SMEs. The second is Brazil’s tax reform, which Lombardo believes will accelerate the migration of small businesses to digital platforms through the accounting community. Omie’s long-term target is to reach US$ 1 billion in revenue and 1 million clients by 2031.
A new strategy for Partners Group in Latin America Begins with Omie 2025 Investment
The Omie funding round 2025 is also a signal of Partners Group’s broader ambitions in Latin America. The firm is setting up a dedicated strategy for minority growth equity investments in companies with revenues above R$ 150 million, annual growth of more than 30%, and strong margins. The focus will remain on software, data analytics, and information services—segments where Omie has proven that Brazilian companies can scale.
Partners Group intends to invest US$ 300 to 500 million in the region over the next four years, with checks ranging from US$ 50 to 150 million. According to Andrade, the plan is to make at least one investment comparable in scale to Omie’s every year.
