Clicampo lands seed round led by Valor Capital. Brazilian Ag Marketplace Clicampo has closed a BRL 40 million seed round for its digital platform that connects the country’s farmers and food producers directly to retailers and restaurants, removing intermediaries in the supply chain.
Valor Capital Group led the round which was co-led by MAYA Capital. Several angel investors, including Marcelo Abritta of Buser, Rafael Costa of Across Capital, and Luis Cascão of TruePay also participated along with the founding teams of two other Brazilian companies, Agrolend and Pier.
As Clicampo lands its seed round, the startup will use the seed funding for new hires to foster the development of new products and technology that support both rural farming communities and retailers, restaurant chains, and e-groceries.
According to CEO Victor Bernardino the company is the best channel for small and medium farmers in Brazil to sell their produce inside theirs cities.
Clicampo landing its seed round will give the company the financial strength to grow in a tough financial market conditions but it shows that the startup business model is sound and that investors are willing to bet on the Brazilian powerful agrobusiness.
