Grupo Alun Acquires StartSe to Expand EdTech Reach
StartSe acquisition Grupo Alun expands EdTech reach in Brazil; Demarest Advogados, led by partner Paula Magalhães, advised the buyer.

StartSe acquisition Grupo Alun was confirmed on September 17, 2025, when the education group — owner of Alura, FIAP, and PM3 — announced the purchase of one of Brazil’s most prominent innovation and executive education platforms. StartSe had been backed by Marcelo Maisonnave, Pedro Englert, Eduardo Glitz, and Pátria Investimentos.
According to Bloomberg Línea, the transaction combines a cash payment with a share swap, while leaving StartSe’s founders in leadership positions. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Strategic impact of StartSe acquisition Grupo Alun
The StartSe acquisition Grupo Alun reflects the group’s ambition to scale beyond technology courses, aiming directly at the executive and C-level market. By integrating StartSe, the group adds an innovation-driven platform that complements Alura’s technology training, FIAP’s academic programs, and PM3’s product-focused courses.
This Grupo Alun acquisition highlights a broader trend of consolidation in Brazilian EdTech, as platforms seek scale, brand recognition, and diversified content to compete for corporate and lifelong learning clients.
