São Paulo base Startup Gringo lands Series A investment led by investment fund KASZEK and co-led by GFC Capital and ONEVC. KASZEK also led the company’s seed round in 2020. The latest investment brings the total investment in the company up to $10 million since its 2019 inception or BRL $55 million.

The company provides a digital platform to help drivers in dealing with the bureaucratic complexities of documentation of vehicles, taxes and fines and is also providing financial services to allow customers to finance those costs. Gringo has seen the number of drivers on its platform grow tenfold year over year according to founder and CEO Rodrigo Colmonero. The company has also seen its Gross Merchandise Value double every year and revenues shot up 150x year over year, numbers that caught the eyes of investors. The user base of the platform is now at an impressive 2.5 million users.

“Many of our competitors are focusing on selling products, while we are building a customer-focused company and as a consequence we are solving their pain points while monetizing,” Rodrigo Colmonero told TechCrunch.
